I saw this cardinal while walking in a local park earlier this month. He was high up in a tree and acting really shy. I had to put on my bigger lens to get this close a view. This was the best angle on him that I could get. Most of the others show his lovely backside. He really was being shy and difficult.

I don't do Ruby Tuesday but I certainly enjoy looking at all the great pictures of those who do. This is perfect for the meme and my grandmother would have loved it as cardinals were always her favorite!
Pretty! The red really pops next to the white snow and dark branches.
Lovely, striking colour and great framing.
Cardinals are one of my favorite birds...
That's lovely. There seem to be quite a few cardinals around and they love to be a part of Ruby Tuesday it seems:)
Happy New Year from Sweden!
What a pretty picture! I love red & white in a photo, especially when it's naturally like that :-) Great capture!
You got a great shot!! He looks so sweet and the color is so rich
GREAT photo!!
This is a stunning picture.
excellent shot! I love the color of the bird, happy new year to you..
BEAUTIFUL red bird against the wintry sky!
Hugs and blessings,
Beautiful. I didn't think I was a "cardinal" kind of person, but they are growing on me.
You found a gem amongst the snow and bare trees. Birds usually fly away when I try to take their picture.
Beautiful image, all the best in 2009!!
May peace, joy, health, prosperity and killer photos fill your year.
Happy New Year!
Love the cardinal, by the way! :)
Very beautiful cardinal in deed!
Bird, big lens, backside, there is a joke in there somewhere.....
Cool Shot :)
